“I recently met with Chloe Fleming, co-owner of “B&H Collective” a new Hair & Beauty Salon in Thirroul & asked her some questions….”

1. Are you the sole business owner, or is it a partnership?

I own the Salon with my Partner, David. You can sometimes see him in the Salon updating things, ensuring everything runs smoothly!

2. How long has your business been established in Thirroul?

Opened on the 5th December 2022

3. What is Your background?

I grew up in the Northern Illawarra. I currently call Corrimal home with my Partner David and little Staffy Dog Ruby.

I have been Hairdressing for nearly 13 years. For the last seven years, I have been working and managing a Hair & Beauty Salon in the Sutherland Shire, where I fell in love with Beauty – eyebrows, facials, massage etc. So, I returned to TAFE 5 years ago and completed my Diploma in Beauty Therapy. So now I specialise in both hair & beauty services.

4. Why did you choose hairdressing/beauty as a profession?

I love making people feel great about themselves. I also love talking to people, hearing their stories and helping them switch off from busy schedules. The way they walk out feeling great about themselves makes me love what I do!

5. What attracted you to set up your business in Thirroul?

My parents live in Coledale, and I drive from Corrimal to Coledale regularly, going through Thirroul; I love the shops and community feel here. And it has been the best decision; the community has been lovely and supportive, including all the other businesses in the area.

6. Do you have any other interests or hobbies?

I love spending time with my Family and Friends. This summer, we have been swimming at the local beaches and taking my dog Ruby to the local dog beaches around the Wollongong area. We love eating out at nice cafes and restaurants with friends, plus Reformer Pilates.

7. Best describe your business. 

I am creating a space that makes people feel comfortable and relaxed. Beauty & Hair Salon that is inclusive to all!

8. Summary of your business services? 

We provide; Hair Colours, Cuts & Blowdries, Hair Styling for Events, Wedding Hair & Makeup, Waxing, Facials, Massage, Spray Tanning, Lash & Brow Services and Infrared Sauna
